As an international publisher of repute whose vision is to be the leading brand of a reliable source of information in the publishing industry, IPS Intelligentsia has set up an internal framework for continuous expansion and improvement of services to our global audience. We will be in continuous need of subject experts, information specialists, journal administrators, reviewers, and technocrats in information and communication technology. IPS Intelligentsia also supports and provides learning opportunities for interns who will be trained in various aspects of our services. Also, we are interested in joint partnerships for improved service delivery. Career openings are available in the following departments. 1. Editorial Department

This department comprises the publishing director, editorial managers, editorial assistants, acquisition editors, journal administrators, journal development editors, and editorial board (including Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors).

Responsibilities: This department is responsible for the development and implementation of IPS Intelligentsia journal publishing policies and workflow.

Requirements: Advanced degree (M.Sc or Ph.D) from any field of study in addition to publishing experiences. Interested persons should have good communication and interpersonal skills plus the ability to work with external contacts such as senior researchers in academia and industry for successful publishing.

2. Production Department

This department comprises production directors, production managers, production editors, digital content managers, desk editors, typesetters, and copy editors.

Responsibilities: This department oversees all production procedures including setting quality standards and planning to accommodate new technologies.

Requirements: Degree level qualifications from any academic discipline plus proper knowledge of all aspects of production including editorial, typesetting, printing, digital object identifier system, and archiving.

3. Information Technology Department

This department comprises technology specialists, IT, and software developers.

Responsibilities: This department oversees all areas of system designs and architecture, ICT technologies, workflow stratifications, and digital infrastructure setup and maintenance.

Requirements: Formal education, degree/diploma level qualifications from courses related to information and communication technology e.g. information technology, computer science/engineering, software, and network engineering, graphic arts, digital illustration and animation, multimedia arts, programming, data science, cloud computing etc.

4. Media and Communication Department

This department comprises information specialists who oversee the outflow flow of information/published information to the target audience.

Responsibilities: This department is responsible for indexing and database archiving of published contents, control of social media handles and blogs.  

Requirements: Degree/diploma in information science, library science, mass communication, and related fields in social sciences. The ability to write and communicate well in addition to managing digital media (visual and sound media) is an added advantage

5. Quality Control and Customer Service Department

This department comprises quality control and assurance editors, customer care representatives, administration, and finance team.

Responsibilities: This department ensures that all content accepted are vetted before final approvals for publishing. Some roles are checking for grammatical errors, typesetting quality, and figures/media quality.

Requirements: Degree in English, information science, or other relevant qualifications, in addition to good writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.

6. Internship Department

This department comprises advisors (senior staff) and interns who work together to ensure a smooth learning process. Usually, this takes a period of 3-6 months.
