Guidelines for Authors
IPS Intelligentsia Publishing Services welcomes articles and books from all fields of study. Authors are required to submit their manuscripts without any prior formatting. Only accepted manuscripts will be formatted by our typesetting/copyediting team. But just for a guide, please ensure that your article meets one of the following definitions. The general reference style is APA citation style.
Research Articles: Research articles are articles from direct experiment. Such articles should capture all aspect of the experiment under the following headings: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References. It typically should be between 3000-6000 words (6-12 pages).
Narrative Review: Articles prepared by consulting current literature without necessarily reporting direct experimental findings are considered as narrative reviews. Such articles should be concise and should provide up-to-date overview of latest research not more than 10 years back. Articles of this category do not follow a precise format but must have an Abstract, Introduction, Literature, Conclusion and References. It should be between 3000-10000 words and should not have more than 200 references.
Systematic Review: Review articles prepared using repeatable analytical methods are generally considered as systematic review (SR). There are different types of SR e.g. qualitative systematic review, general systematic review, meta-analysis, systematized review and so on. In IPS Intelligentsia, the general format for SR should be Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods (consisting of eligibility criteria), Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References.
Short Communication: As the name implies, short communication are short papers that present original and significant material for rapid dissemination. They differ remarkably from research articles because it is intended to publish preliminary results. It shouldn’t contain an abstract or summary but should contain Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgement and References. It should be kept brief and should not exceed 2500 words with at least 8 references cited or a maximum of 50 references.
Case report: This can also be referred to as Clinical case study or simply a Case study. It is usually used to report findings of medical importance. When in use should capture the signs and symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of the disease of an individual subject.
Conference Proceedings: IPS Intelligentsia accepts articles from conference proceedings provided the author(s) retain the copyright of the work and that the full work has not been published.
Dissertations/Thesis: These are full-length research work conducted for a Ph.D or a Masters degree student. An author/student needs to forward a letter of consent from his or her supervisor(s), Department/Faculty before it will be accepted for publication.
Monograph: A monograph is a comprehensive document or a written study of a single specialized subject area. It is classified as a type of book. A well-written monograph is of interest to IPS and will be sent for review and publication.
Edited book: An edited book is a type of book that is different from a monograph. It is a book with chapters written by different authors with one or more editors.
Other articles considered: Progress reports, Technical reports, Short reviews, Abstracts, Bulletins, Opinions, Commentaries, Video research work, Maps, Letters and editorials, Insights, Perspectives, Biographies etc.
